Dr. Purita's Time in Malaysia

I have recently returned from a lecturing engagement in  Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  I was presenting a talk on Stem cells and their use for various musculoskeletal  conditions.  The audience was quite receptive and egger to learn about these topics.   The hospitality that was afforded me was quite impressive.   The Malay  people did not disappoint me with their hospitality.  I had quite a few conservations with doctors  from Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore concerning the use of Stem cells and Platelet Rich Plasma injections on their patients.  Hopefully I have further expanded the use of these treatment modalities in this portion of the world.  My desire is to make these therapies have world wide acceptance and use.

I also had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dr. Khay Saw of Malaysia.  Dr. Saw like myself Is a pioneer in the use of stem cells in patients.  We have  a special kinship since we are both orthopedic surgeons.   Although his approach is a bit different than mine the processes are by and large very similar.  We had some excellent give and take sessions.  I consider it an honor that I was able to observe surgery with Dr. Saw.  I consider my lecturing trip to Malaysia fulfilling  and gratifying.  The only  negative of the trip is the 25 hour plane ride going and coming.  I pity those people who do this on a regular basis.
